The latest Year 5 Learning Update!

The year 5’s Graffitti project involved learning about Banksy’s artwork and methodology. This involved creating a ‘tag,’ making a stencil and finally spray painting their tag on the the Jessop KS1 wall to help commemorate our 150 year anniversary.
Is it Art, or is it vandalism?
The Imagine the Future project involved rapping, rap battling, creating poetry and poetry portraits, and sending a poetic message into the future, for millions of people to read.
Each year 5 class chose one of their messages to be written on the walls of the South Bank Centre this summer. Look out for it!

Year 6

Summer Term 1 Knowledge Organiser – 2025/2026

The latest Year 6 Learning Update!

Our Year 6 pupils recently became young physicists as they investigated how mirrors reflect light. In this exciting science lesson, the class explored the concept that light travels in straight lines and can be reflected when it hits a mirror.

Using mirrors, torches, and protractors, the children directed beams of light onto mirrors and carefully observed what happened. They measured the angle of incidence (the angle at which light hits the mirror) and compared it to the angle of reflection (the angle at which light bounces away). Through their experiments, the children discovered an important scientific rule: the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection.

Working collaboratively, the class recorded their results, adjusted the angles, and discussed why the light changed direction when it hit the mirror. It was fantastic to see the children thinking like scientists: making predictions, testing ideas, and reflecting on their findings.

The lesson helped pupils deepen their understanding of light and reflection while developing their practical investigation skills. Well done to our Year 6 scientists for their curiosity, teamwork, and careful observations!
